SUMMARY

Silver Wind, sister to Silver Cloud, was the second ship to join the Silversea fleet. She has been refurbished several times since entering service in 1995, most recently in 2021 to increase her ability to do expedition cruising.


This ship is an ultra-luxury small cruise ship with a reputation for quality, intimacy and pampering. All of the cabins are designated as suites and have butler service. Fares are “all-inclusive” although there are extra charges for such things as premium wines and some spa treatments as well as a reservation fee at the ship's French-inspired specialty restaurant.


The main dining room operates on an open seating basis. Alternatives to the main dining room include the specialty restaurant Le Champagne developed in conjunction with Relais & Chateaux. The buffet restaurant, La Terrazza, becomes an ala carte Italian restaurant in the evening with both indoor and outdoor seating. Along the same lines, the poolside eatery becomes The Grill in the evening featuring dishes cooked at your table upon individual black volcanic rocks.


For entertainment, Silver Wind has the two-desk high Parisian Lounge. It is used for production shows, classical soloists, feature films, lectures, port talks and special events. There is also live music in the observation lounge and in the bar. In addition, Silver Wind has a casino, a library and an internet cafe.


Silver Wind attracts an international clientele although the majority of the passengers tend to come from North America. Most passengers are retirement age. Few children come aboard.

In November 2021, Silver Wind underwent a refurbishment in which her hull was strengthened to ice class.
