Inside, the central atrium on Britannia is like the lobby of a contemporary hotel with seating at the base. On Regal Princess, the central atrium is used as an entertainment venue and so the seating is confined to the periphery. In addition, Britannia's rectangular shaped atrium has one spiral staircase whereas Regal Princess' curving atrium has two. Of course, the central ceiling sculptures are also different.
In the lobby at the base of the atrium, Britannia has the Blue Bar on the starboard side. Regal Princess has the Gelato emporium in the corresponding space. Regal Princess does have a bar in the lobby but it is on the port side next to the International Cafe.
On Deck Six overlooking the lobby, Britannia has a series of shops. Regal Princess has Alfredo's restaurant in this space. Interestingly, the shops on Regal Princess are on Deck Seven in the space occupied by the Glass House wine bar and restaurant on Britannia.
Also on Deck Six overlooking the lobby is Regal Princess' photo gallery (right). On Britannia, the photo gallery is further aft on Deck Seven. In addition, whereas the photo gallery on Regal Princess has the traditional racks of photos, the photo gallery on Britannia is digital.
Forward of the atrium on Deck Seven, Britannia has the Crystal Room with its large dance floor. On Regal Princess, this space is a shopping area with a spiral stairacse in the middle leading down to the casino.
The casino on Britannia is much smaller than on Regal Princess. Instead, Britannis's pub (Brodie's) occupies most of what is the casino area on Regal.
On Deck Five forward, Britannia has the Limelight supper club. The corresponding area on Regal Princess includes Sabatini's specialty restaurant.
Both ships have their reception desks and shore excursions offices on Deck Five but in slightly different locations. The decor is also much different.
There are a number of features inside the two ships that are very similar. For example, the main theaters are in the same location and differ just in decor and furnishings (above).
Midships, both ships have another smaller theater (below). On Britannia, this venue is used as a multi-purpose intimate venue for lectures, demonstrations, activities and movies. The Princess version is used for much the same thing but it has been equipped with television equipment so that shows and events can be broadcast throughout the ship.

Then there are some features which have no counterpart on the other ship. For example, Britannia has an observation bar (The Crow's Nest) and a specialty restaurant (Epicurean) on Deck 16 (above). The corresponding space on Regal Princess is occupied by passenger cabins. However, elsewhere on the ship, Regal Princess has the Club 6 nightclub and the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar (below)
Britannia has the Cookery Club where guests can learn about cooking (left). Regal Princess does not have a similar venue. However, in the tradition of the Love Boat, Regal Princess has a wedding chapel (right).
The passenger accommodations on Britannia include a series of cabins designed for solo travelers (left). On Regal Princess, all of the cabins are designed for two or more travelers although solo travelers are welcome.
These are a few of the differences between these two sister ships. In our opinion, both ships provide good quality cruise experiences. Which is better is, of course, a matter of personal taste.
