One of the world's largest cruise ships, Allure of the Seas is back. In this photo feature, we see her arriving for a day in Nassau.
Nassau was one of Allure's first ports of call. It was one of a handful of ports deemed capable of handling a ship of this size. Indeed, the long pier furthest from shore was expanded so as to handle Allure and her sister Oasis of the Seas. Although the list of ports visited by Oasis class ships has grown considerably since Allure and Oasis entered service, the Oasis class are still frequent visitors to Nassau. Accordingly, their pier has been further expanded so as to be able to handle two giant cruise ships on its seaward side.
Here, we see Allure at sea off Nassau, approaching the barrier island that protects the harbor, passing the lighthouse at the mouth of the harbor, making a 90 degree turn and docking at her usual pier.
