Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas, Coco Cay, has long been a popular cruise destination. And since Mariner of the Seas is a popular ship, the two make a good combination.

However, at that time, ships like Mariner had to anchor off shore at Coco Cay and use boats to ferry passengers back and forth to the island.

This process made for some good photo opportunities but it was not very convenient.
|
Consequently, Royal Caribbean decided to build a pier at Coco Cay.
|
|
|
Here is Mariner about a year later in late 2019 at the completed pier.

Now, passengers could just walk ashore.
