Solstice class cruise ships
Celebrity Cruises' five ship Solstice class includes: Celebrity Solstice; Celebrity Equinox; Celebrity Eclipse; Celebrity Silhouette
and Celebrity Reflection. These are large ships ranging in size from 122,000 to 126,000 gross tons and capable of accommodating
between 2,800 to 3,050 guests.
The cruise experience on the Solstice class is up-market, causal and contemporary. It is for cruisers who are looking for more
sophistication and elegance than the mass market lines but at the same time, more relaxed than traditional premium cruising.
While the layout is essentially the same, each of the ships has a slightly different interior décor. The style is cosmopolitan with an extensive collection of contemporary art. There is considerable natural light and spaciousness.
Along the same lines, the exterior public spaces are contemporary and upmarket in design. A unique feature is the half acre of real grass lawn on each ship. The adults-only Solarium is enclosed in glass and has a large pool as well as the delightful Spa
Cafe.
Each of the Solstice class ships has three complimentary main dining rooms. Which dining room a guests can access depends upon his or her stateroom category. Suite guests have exclusive access to the gourmet restaurant Luminare. Aqua class guests dine in Blu, a restaurant that specializes in healthy dining but prepared in a gourmet manner. Other guests dine in the large main dining room, which offers both a flexible dining option and a traditional fixed seating option.
In addition, each ship has an array of specialty restaurants ranging from traditional elegance to cutting-edge dining. The last
two ships in the class, Silhouette and Reflection, have an additional specialty restaurant. All the ships also have a number of casual
dining venues, some of which are complimentary.
Guests staying in certain suite categories have access to the luxury Retreat facilities. These include the aforementioned
Luminare restaurant as well as an exclusive lounge and a separate sun deck.
Most of the facilities on board are open to all guests.
For entertainment, each ship has a large theater, which features visually spectacular production shows as well as more traditional
shows with visiting entertainers. There are also bars and lounges and a casino on each ship. The first three ships in the class also had a venue where guests could watch glass blowing demonstrations.
Activities include lectures and cultural events as well as the usual cruise ship fare.
