Just as the last light was fading, a tug boat came along side Carnival Vista. Her mission was to push against Vista's starboard side to counter the strong current of the river pushing against her port side.
Carnival Vista then quickly backed out to the middle of the river.
She then began to make a 90 degree turn to the right so as to enable her to follow the river down to the sea.
With her turn completed, Carnival Vista sailed down the river in the last twilight of the day.
With the lights of Manhattan to her left and the lights of the new skyline of Jersey City to her right, Vista headed out to the open sea.
