Moving further into the Med, Anthem next stopped in the French Riviera. From Villefranche, passengers were able to go to Monaco, Nice, Cannes and other smaller towns.
Anthem did not dock but rather tendered her passengers ashore using boats. She thus became the largest cruise ship up to that date to carry out a full-scale tender operation. |

Civitavecchia was the eastern-most port visited by Anthem. It is the traditional cruise port for Rome, Italy.
